Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Concrete Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various concrete-related projects, including formwork, finishing, and restoration tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and familiarity with construction tools and techniques. This position offers an opportunity to develop hands-on experience in concrete work and related trades within a dynamic construction environment.
Duties
- Assist with concrete forming, pouring, and finishing to ensure smooth and durable surfaces
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Install rebar and other reinforcement materials according to schematics and blueprints
- Perform masonry tasks including caulking, flooring installation, and restoration work
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans for accurate project execution
- Conduct demolition or removal of existing structures as needed for renovation projects
- Support carpentry tasks such as framing and structural adjustments
- Ensure proper use of safety protocols during all phases of work, including heavy lifting and welding activities
- Maintain a clean worksite by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
Requirements
- Proven experience or training in concrete forming, finishing, or related construction trades
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with rebar installation, masonry, welding, and blueprint reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of schematics, carpentry, caulking, flooring installation, restoration, and renovation techniques is preferred
- Strong understanding of safety procedures associated with construction sites
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform strenuous tasks throughout the workday
- Prior experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and formwork is advantageous
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
