Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-paced kitchen environment. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items according to specifications, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. You will work collaboratively with the rest of the kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality meals for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies, ingredients, and equipment before the start of service.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of work areas throughout service.
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe standards).
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
- Assist with prep work including chopping vegetables, making sauces, marinating proteins, and portioning ingredients.
- Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure consistency and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
- Assist in receiving, labeling, and rotating inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies, procedures, and cleanliness standards.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful kitchen environment.
Experience
- Minimum [1-2] years of experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
