Job Summary:
Join us at our family owned and operated Placer Gold Mine outside of Dawson City, Yukon until October of 2026 as a Carpenter. This is a hiring multiple candidates. Successful candidate will be working as part of a team to repair and maintain 3 remote mining camps.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair minor plumbing issues
- Repair, install and maintain floors, walls and decks
- Repair and maintain tin roofs
- Complete tasks as delegated by the foreman
- Design and build new decks, connections between camp shacks, additions to buildings
- Put together steel quonset kits
- Work with a variety of materials, recycle materials when possible
- Finishing work such as sanding and painting
- Communicate with the office to order tools and materials
- Install fixtures such as doors, windows, molding, trim
- Construct concrete forms for foundations
Qualifications
- 1 year carpentry experience
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Class 5 drivers license
This is a camp position with a 12 day on, 2 days off shift. We offer relocation assistance to get to the Yukon however this is NOT fly in fly out work, nor is end of season travel covered. Camp accommodations include a private room, shared wash facilities and a dining hall providing 3 meals a day.
Wages $25-$35 hour with overtime after 8hrs.
11hrs/day, 77hrs/week.
