Position Overview
Bridge Law is seeking a highly organized, experienced, and motivated Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our illustrious support staff at our Penticton office. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage a dynamic workload in a fast-paced legal environment. This role involves supporting lawyers with case preparation, document management, client communication, and administrative tasks essential to the firm’s operations.

Duties:
- Draft, proofread, and prepare legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and forms
- Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Conduct legal research and compile supporting materials for cases, hearings, and trials
- Manage lawyers' calendars, schedule appointments, hearings, and court dates
- Assist with filing documents (e-filing and physical filings)
- Prepare and organize files for court appearances
- Assist with lawyers' billing entries and general administrative support
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support firm operations
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal (experience in criminal, civil, and/or family law is preferred)
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court systems
- Proficiency with legal software (e.g., Court Services Online, LexisNexis, LegalAid Portals) and Microsoft
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Professional demeanour and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
