Right now, we’re looking for a Fund Development Coordinator to join our team for an initial six-month term from June through December. This role is designed to support our growing fundraising initiatives during a key period of development, with the potential to transition into a full-time, contractual position as the organization continues to expand.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in helping Habitat NL achieve its fundraising goals by cultivating relationships with donors, coordinating fundraising initiatives, and supporting the overall development strategy of the organization.
Fundraising & Donor Development
- Act as a brand ambassador for Habitat NL, championing the mission in your work with donors and community partners Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors Support the development and execution of fundraising initiatives designed to meet and exceed annual revenue targets Identify and research potential donors and funding opportunities, developing strategies to engage new supporters Prepare funding proposals and grant applications and assist with reporting requirements for grants and sponsorships Engage with prospects, donors, and lapsed donors through meetings, presentations, and ongoing relationship building Analyze donor data and giving patterns to identify new fundraising opportunities Provide regular activity and progress reports to the CEO
Donor Stewardship & Communications
- Ensure donors receive appropriate recognition and stewardship through letters, tax receipts, acknowledgements, invitations, and updates Respond to donor inquiries in a timely, professional, and courteous manner Support the development and distribution of donor communications, both electronic and print Liaise with the CEO to ensure donor stewardship commitments are fulfilled across all communications and materials Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with ethical fundraising standards and applicable regulations
Donor Database & Reporting
- Maintain accurate donor records, including updating contact information and recording donor interactions Track fundraising activities and progress toward fundraising targets in the donor database Coordinate donor thank-you calls and stewardship activities Maintain up-to-date donor and prospect profiles to support effective relationship management
Events & Community Engagement
- Coordinate logistics for Habitat NL’s Build Day program, including securing sponsors and donor participation Assist with donor appreciation initiatives and community engagement activities Support build-related events such as groundbreakings and home dedication ceremonies Lead the planning and execution of Habitat NL’s signature fundraising events Support third-party campaigns, annual appeals, and capital campaigns when applicable Ensure appropriate donor recognition and stewardship at events
Organizational Support
- Collaborate with Habitat staff to support resource development initiatives, including procurement needs for the ReStore and Build programs Assist with various fundraising campaigns and development initiatives as needed Take on additional duties and special projects in support of Habitat NL’s mission
YOU BRING
- Post-secondary education in fundraising, business, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field
- Minimum two years of experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or a related role Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to connect with donors, volunteers, and community partners
- Experience coordinating events and fundraising initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling donor messaging
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with donor database systems
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail when handling confidential information
- A genuine passion for Habitat NL’s mission and a commitment to ethical fundraising standards
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Regular work days are Monday to Friday, with evening and weekend work required at times for special events and presentations
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
