UCG is currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Contract Support Workers to join our team supporting youth in a residential setting in Thorold, Ontario.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth and who can provide trauma-informed, person-centered support in a professional environment.
Available Shifts
- Day Shifts
- Overnight Shifts
- Weekday and weekend availability considered
Compensation
- $22.00–$25.00 per hour
- Contract/Permanent/Fulltime positions
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Ontario Class G2/G Driver’s Licence
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification
- SMG (Safe Management Group) Certification
- Relevant experience supporting youth, individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioural needs, mental health concerns, or complex needs
- Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred
- A university degree or college diploma in Child and Youth Care, Developmental Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field is considered an asset
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively in crisis situations
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and supervision to youth in a residential setting
- Implement individualized plans and behavioural support strategies
- Assist with daily living activities, community involvement, and recreational programming
- Maintain accurate documentation and shift reports
- Collaborate with families, professionals, and team members to ensure quality care and support
