Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled System and Network Specialist to join our IT team. This six month role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex networks and system infrastructures to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud services, virtualization, Network, and operating systems, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that support organizational goals.
Duties
- Provide first-level support for server and desktop infrastructure.
- Provide first-level support for Microsoft Cloud, 365, and Dynamics.
- Monitor and audit server for performance, security, and availability; and take remedial actions as necessary to ensure ongoing system success
- Installation, configuration, update and maintenance of server software and hardware
- Manage and optimize cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring scalable and secure infrastructure deployment
- Maintain and support virtualization environments Hyper-V , performing upgrades and troubleshooting as needed
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network services, including Firewalls (Fotinet), DNS, VPNs, and local computer networking.
- Administer various operating systems, including Windows and Linux distributions to ensure system stability and security
- Monitor system health and perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent downtime
- Conduct continuous monitoring and auditing of network performance, security, and availability, taking appropriate remedial actions to sustain optimal system functionality
- Act as the primary resource for addressing/fixing system and network issues
- Provide on-site installation and maintenance services when required
Skills
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms, including Azure, Digital Ocean.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (functional and technical)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Office 365 Applications, Email, Teams, SharePoint, MFA), Active Directory)
- Expertise in operating systems: Windows Server and various Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Deep understanding of computer networking concepts: DNS, VPNs, TCP/IP protocols
- Hands-on experience with physical routers, switches, firewalls and VLANs configuration
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Etobicoke, ON M9W 5T9
