Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter Helper to assist skilled carpenters in various construction and renovation projects. This role involves supporting carpentry tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in construction and woodworking, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support project execution
- Support concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed
- Aid in cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, siding, roofing, and siding projects
- Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other construction equipment safely and effectively
- Perform general construction tasks including caulking, painting, drywall finishing, and assembly of building components
- Support plumbing and electrical work under supervision for integrated project completion
- Assist with heavy lifting and material handling to ensure smooth workflow on-site
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Skills
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating principles
- Experience or familiarity with concrete forming, masonry, rebar installation, roofing, siding, and tile laying
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and construction projects
- Basic electrical and plumbing experience is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics for various trades including cabinetry and woodworking
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Handyman experience or background in restoration work is advantageous
- Ability to adapt quickly to different tasks such as CNC operations or manufacturing processes
