The Opportunity
The Immigration Services Branch is seeking a Manager of Entrepreneur Immigration for a term position of 12 months in Saskatoon.
The Entrepreneur Immigration Unit is responsible for the administration of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) categories for globally experienced entrepreneurs and farmers.
Reporting to the Director your responsibilities will include:
- supervising a team of approximately 6 people to achieve Ministry goals related to client service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement, and a strong one-team approach;
- providing leadership on policy and processes related to business immigration programs and entrepreneur and farm immigration application processing;
- evaluating and rendering decisions on immigration applications utilizing program criteria, including the review of business plans, financial statements, ledgers, sales documents, property assessments and evaluations, tax documentation and applicable regulatory and licensure documents;
- assigning, distributing, organizing and prioritizing the work of the unit;
- developing working relationships with related federal and provincial agencies and other stakeholders; and,
- consulting with government, community, and other stakeholders.
Success in this role requires:
- Knowledge of federal and provincial immigration programs and applicable acts;
- The ability to develop policies and processes;
- The ability to assess complex information to make eligibility decisions;
- The ability to build consensus, develop and manage projects, strong aptitude to recognize and acknowledge cultural and ethnic sensitivities, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with varying levels of education and language capabilities;
- The ability to work independently or collaboratively as a team member with co-workers, stakeholders, and others to consistently meet Ministry and client needs; and,
- Being an enthusiastic team player whom tactfully and respectfully supports colleagues to promote a positive work environment; and,
- Holding a valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to travel within Saskatchewan.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through a bachelor degree in business administration, commerce, economics or social science. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Hours of Work: A - SGEU Office 36 - one day off every two weeks
