⭐ Position Summary
ECEs are responsible for creating safe, caring, developmentally appropriate environments where children can explore, wonder, problem-solve, and learn through play and inquiry. Educators collaborate closely with families, co-workers, and Program Supervisors to ensure program quality and strong communication.
Some positions require driving (for school drop-off/pick-up or transporting children for supervised outings). A valid driver’s licence is required for these roles.
⭐ What You’ll Do
- Build warm, responsive relationships with children and families
- Plan and implement play-based, inquiry-driven learning experiences aligned with FLIGHT
- Set up intentional, beautiful learning environments that encourage curiosity and independence
- Document children’s learning through observations, Learning Stories, and conversations with families
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Support children’s social–emotional development with empathy and positive guidance
- Collaborate with co-educators to ensure smooth daily routines
- Follow licensing standards, centre policies, and health and safety practices
- If applicable: Safely transport children using a centre vehicle for drop-offs, pick-ups, or scheduled outings
⭐ Qualifications
Required:
- Alberta ECE Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Certification (completed or in progress acceptable for Level 1)
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Current First Aid/CPR (Child Care) or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Passion for early learning and genuine care for children
Additional Requirements for Driving Roles Optional:
- Valid Class 5 or 4 driver's licence
- Clean driver’s abstract (preferred)
- Comfortable driving a centre vehicle for child transport
