Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate CNC milling machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. The CNC Mill Operator will ensure that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including CNC lathes and other machining equipment such as CNC milling machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
- Program CNC machines using Fanuc controls and other relevant programming languages to produce precise components.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances of machined parts.
- Select and utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools as needed for assembly or finishing processes.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist in the setup of machinery for production runs, including loading raw materials and securing workpieces.
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives related to machining processes.
Skills
- Proven experience with CNC programming and operation, particularly with Fanuc controls.
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models using SolidWorks or similar software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Experience with machining tools such as CNC mills, CNC lathes, calipers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts is preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and quality inspection techniques.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
