Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician to join our team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and heavy equipment
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment to identify issues accurately
- Repair or replace mechanical components, electrical systems, and hydraulic parts as needed
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other industrial equipment when required
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams for accurate repairs
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and recommendations clearly to clients
Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or service technician; dealership experience is a plus
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery
- Mechanical knowledge across various systems including HVAC, electrical systems, and welding techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with schematics, diagnostic tools, and industrial equipment maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex issues
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to automotive repair or heavy machinery operation are preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop setting
