Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Helper to join our dynamic team at GoodLeaf Farms. In this role, you will support the maintenance operations of our vertical farming facility, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally to help us achieve our mission of sustainable and pesticide-free agriculture.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Functions:
- Perform preventative maintenance activities assigned by the Supervisor or the Maintenance Technician
- Perform and support routine maintenance tasks.
- Perform machine troubleshooting and repairs as required.
- Complete facility’s maintenance tasks (ie. Lighting repairs, door hinges, etc…)
- Maintain up to date records, metrics (KPI) and documentation (ie. Backlog, spare parts recording, work order entries, etc…)
- Maintain proper daily inventory management for all spare parts which includes incoming material and outgoing parts
- Ensure proper cleaning of the work area after completion of activities
- Maintain the maintenance area by keeping it clean and organized (5S)
- Ensure daily usage of the CMMS software to document work orders and preventative maintenance activities
- Lead training initiatives on equipment set-up and calibration
- Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor
Health & Safety / Food Safety:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Ensure Food Safety practices are strictly adhered to (ie. Proper use of hand tools and power tools, proper use of PPE
Requirements
- Calgary Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- In the absence of an OSSD, relevant experience will be considered
- Previous experience or education is always an asset
- Prioritize safety and demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices
- Technical aptitude and demonstrated interest in maintenance and farm operations
- Willingness and ability to pursue additional technical training
- Hands on worker with basic mechanical skills
- Work well independently and with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills and ability to understand technical instructions
- Willingness to work at heights
