Project Manager
Drive retail display and signage programs from design to delivery.
About Somerville
Somerville is a design-led manufacturer of retail experiences. We partner with global brands, national brands, and big-box retailers to design, build, and roll out the displays, fixtures, signage, and branded environments shoppers interact with every day.
We’re looking for a Project Manager to own the delivery of our client programs — keeping complex, cross-functional work on scope, on time, and on margin.
The role
You’ll own projects end to end — from kickoff through manufacturing to final delivery — acting as the central point that keeps design, manufacturing, and account teams aligned.
This is a hands-on, commercially-minded role. You’ll estimate and price your own projects, own the purchasing behind them, manage the budget and P&L, control scope, and make sure every program lands profitably and to the standard our clients expect.
What you’ll do
- Lead project planning to define scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resourcing
- Estimate and price your own projects, building the cost basis from the ground up
- Prepare and manage project costing, including P&L evaluation and margin protection
- Own purchasing for your projects end to end — sourcing suppliers, negotiating, and issuing purchase orders
- Coordinate cross-functional teams — design, manufacturing, and account management — to execute efficiently
- Develop detailed project plans and adjust as requirements change
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of services and materials
- Prepare and revise contractual agreements alongside the sales team
- Run status meetings with clients and stakeholders, communicating progress and resolving issues
- Use project data to assess performance and drive continuous improvement
What you bring
- Proven project management experience with a track record of delivering on time and on budget
- Experience estimating and pricing your own projects
- Ability to read and analyze blueprints, site plans, and drawing packages
- Strong commercial sense — comfortable owning estimating, costing, purchasing, P&L, and margin
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs at once
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Experience in retail displays, fixtures, signage, manufacturing, or a related field is an asset
What we offer
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
- The chance to deliver high-profile programs for a design-led business that makes what it sells
- A growing company with real momentum and room to advance
- Extended health, dental, and vision care, disability and life insurance, paid time off, company events, on-site parking
