Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Brake Press Operator for a full-time day-shift opportunity with our client in Mississauga.
This is a hands-on metal fabrication position for someone who has experience setting up and operating brake press equipment, reading engineering drawings, and inspecting finished metal parts. You will be responsible for producing accurately formed components, adjusting machine settings, and using precision measuring tools to confirm that parts meet specifications.
The ideal candidate has practical brake press setup experience and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay rate: $22.80/ hour
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What You’ll Do
- Previous hands-on experience setting up and operating brake press machines is required.
- Experience operating shear machines in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and production specifications.
- Experience inspecting fabricated metal parts.
- Ability to use Vernier calipers, micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to complete basic machine setup and production calculations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple production priorities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to safely lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
What You Bring
- Previous hands-on experience setting up and operating brake press machines.
- Experience operating shear machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience inspecting fabricated parts and using precision measuring tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence completing machine setup calculations.
- College diploma in Mechanical Engineering, CNC training, or equivalent hands-on machining and metal fabrication experience is an asset.
- Two or more years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Additional Assets
- CNC machine operation experience.
- Training in CNC machining, metal fabrication or a related technical field.
- Two or more years of manufacturing or metal fabrication experience.
