About the Role:
As a Scale Operator, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers visiting our site. In this role, you will greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, process payments, and ensure all customer and transaction information is accurate. You will help direct customers to the appropriate areas of the site and work closely with our Greeter team to keep traffic moving smoothly and safely.
Strong computer skills are essential, as you will use our systems to complete transactions and maintain records. The role also includes opening and closing responsibilities, securing buildings and gates, and helping maintain a safe environment for customers and staff. From time to time, you will work outdoors and provide coverage as a Greeter when needed.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys customer service, multitasking, and being part of a busy, team-oriented environment.
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic math skills and ability to perform accurate measurements.

Experience operating weighing scales or similar equipment in an industrial or warehouse setting.

Ability to read and record data accurately.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Perform routine manual tasks such as picking up materials and sweeping.

Occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.

Assist with unloading trailers when required.

Regularly lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or waste industry is considered an asset.

Familiarity with electronic data entry systems and inventory management software.

Knowledge of safety standards related to material handling and equipment operation.

Certification or training in scale operation or quality control procedures.
Responsibilities:

Skills:
The Scale Operator uses strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy daily to ensure all weights are recorded correctly, which is essential for inventory control and quality assurance. Communication skills are important for coordinating with team members and reporting any discrepancies or equipment issues promptly. Basic technical skills are applied when operating and calibrating scales, as well as when entering data into electronic systems. Time management and organizational skills help the operator maintain efficient workflow and meet production schedules. Additionally, adherence to safety protocols ensures a secure working environment for the operator and colleagues.
