We are currently hiring a reliable and hardworking Yard Person on behalf of our client in Merrickville, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and products in preparation for delivery while ensuring the yard remains organized and operational at all times.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, operating equipment, and supporting warehouse and production operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize products for scheduled deliveries
- Review delivery schedules and confirm trailer requirements
- Load, unload, and move materials safely within the yard
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and work areas
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment and property
- Cut EWP materials to required specifications
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with production, logistics, and delivery teams
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time
- Support team members and maintain a positive work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid forklift license required
- Previous yard, warehouse, or construction experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read construction layouts or engineered drawings is an asset
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
