Role Description
Kasi Law is seeking a full-time Experienced Litigation Law Clerk to support all areas of the firm’s litigation practice. The firm’s work is approximately 50% plaintiff personal injury and accident benefits and 50% insurance defence and related litigation, although the exact balance may vary depending on file needs, workflow, and firm priorities.
This role is well suited to an experienced litigation law clerk or legal assistant who is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting files through multiple stages of litigation. The successful candidate will assist with both law clerk and legal assistant functions, including file management, drafting, scheduling, client communication, court filing, medical and documentary evidence review, deadline tracking, productions, undertakings, examinations, mediations, motions, trial preparation, and general litigation support.
This is a full-time role that is primarily on site at the firm’s London office. Some hybrid flexibility may be considered where appropriate, based on firm needs, role requirements, leadership approval, IT requirements, performance, and the employee’s ability to maintain a secure and appropriate home office set-up. Hybrid work is not guaranteed and would be discussed further with the successful candidate if suitable for the role and the firm.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supporting litigation files across plaintiff personal injury, accident benefits, insurance defence, commercial litigation, and civil litigation matters
- Managing and progressing files in accordance with lawyer direction, firm procedures, limitation dates, court deadlines, and client needs
- Acting as a point of contact between lawyers, clients, insurers, adjusters, defence counsel, opposing counsel, service providers, court staff, and other parties
- Drafting, revising, formatting, and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, applications, motion materials, mediation briefs, court documents, schedules, and other litigation materials
- Reviewing, organizing, and analyzing medical records, productions, income records, benefit documents, expert reports, and other file materials
- Preparing medical chronologies, issue summaries, production summaries, document briefs, file review materials, and other litigation support documents
- Managing undertakings, refusals, productions, authorizations, limitation dates, court deadlines, hearing dates, and follow-up items
- Maintaining an effective Bring Forward system and ensuring files move forward in a timely and organized manner
- Coordinating service and filing of documents, booking examinations, mediations, court attendances, hearings, and other litigation steps
- Assisting with document review, productions, discovery preparation, mediation preparation, motion preparation, LAT-related materials, and hearing preparation
- Supporting trial preparation, including organizing evidence, preparing binders, coordinating materials, tracking deadlines, and assisting with pre-trial and trial-related tasks
- Updating case management systems, task lists, file notes, and internal tracking tools
- Maintaining organized electronic and physical files in accordance with firm procedures
- Providing general legal assistant support, including scheduling, correspondence, filing, scanning, document preparation, calendar management, and administrative file support
- Contributing to the improvement of litigation procedures, workflows, checklists, and internal systems
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience as a litigation law clerk, legal assistant, or in a similar litigation support role
- Law Clerk Diploma, Legal Assistant Diploma, or equivalent education and experience
- Experience in personal injury, accident benefits, insurance defence, civil litigation, or commercial litigation is strongly preferred
- Strong litigation support skills, including drafting court documents, managing files, coordinating court-related procedures, and tracking deadlines
- Strong understanding of litigation procedure, file management, productions, undertakings, limitation dates, and client communication
- Experience reviewing and organizing medical records, productions, and documentary evidence is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple files, competing priorities, and strict deadlines in a busy litigation environment
- Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative, responsive, and aligned with lawyer direction
- Professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and commitment to client confidentiality and ethical standards
- Comfort communicating with clients who may be injured, stressed, or navigating difficult circumstances
- Strong technology skills and comfort using legal software, document management systems, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, PDF tools, and standard office applications
- Experience with PrimaFact, PC Law, Microsoft 365, and OneDrive is an asse
- Willingness to learn firm-specific processes and adapt to evolving procedures and technologies

Salary
Target Hiring Range: $58,000 – $70,000
Compensation will be commensurate with skill level, years of experience, litigation background, and alignment with the firm’s operational and practice needs.
