We are currently recruiting a Senior Generator Field Service Technician for our Mississauga office.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
· Maintain and repair electrical power generators
· Install enclosures, winterizing components and accessories to generators
· Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical problems both on-site and via telephone
· Perform regular scheduled service and load bank testing as per maintenance contracts
· Perform generator commissioning and startup inspections
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment by providing general shop, yard and vehicle maintenance
· Provide assistance to other trades, as required
· Maintain a clean and valid driver’s license/abstract
· Travel by service vehicle and airplane can be expected
· Perform other duties as assigned and/or required by business needs
· Follow all company policies and procedures
· Always perform duties in a safe, efficient, and professional manner
· Obtain security clearance/background checks as required for site access
· Work overtime and irregular hours as needed and participate in after hours on-call program
Qualifications, Abilities Required:
· Journeyman in either electrical, heavy equipment or automotive
· EGSA, OBT, PM3 certification an asset
· Minimum 5 years’ experience as a generator technician
· Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and specifications of a variety of types of mechanical and electrical equipment, including manufacturer’s manuals and parts books
· Good understanding of CSA 282 – Emergency Electrical Power Supply for Buildings
· A valid G Class driver’s license and clean Driver’s Abstract
· Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills
· Able to work unsupervised, and follow all safety procedures and policies
· Can lift up to 100lbs repeatedly
· Can work while standing for up to 8 hours and/or remain seated for up to 8 hours
