Banquet Cook
Elm Hurst Inn & Spa is seeking a motivated and dependable Banquet Cook to join our culinary team.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in producing high-quality food, and understands the importance of teamwork and organization. This role is ideal for a cook who enjoys event and banquet production and is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences for weddings, corporate functions, and special events.
As a Banquet Cook, you will work closely with the Banquet Chef and Executive Chef to prepare and execute banquet menus while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. You will play an important role in ensuring events run smoothly and guests receive an exceptional culinary experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook banquet menu items according to recipes, production sheets, and presentation standards.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of weddings, conferences, social events, and other banquet functions.
- Support the Banquet Chef and Executive Chef in daily food production and event preparation.
- Ensure food is prepared and plated accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
- Assist with large-scale food preparation while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Set up, stock, and maintain banquet workstations and prep areas.
- Follow all food handling, sanitation, and health and safety regulations.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using proper food storage practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary and banquet teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Support restaurant kitchen operations when required.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, banquet operation, hotel, catering, or restaurant environment.
- Strong understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen organization.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
- Culinary education is an asset; however, relevant experience and a strong work ethic are equally valued.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
