Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobile Reefer Technician to join our team. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing refrigerated transport units to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience with refrigeration systems, and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment in a mobile setting. This position offers the opportunity to work independently across various locations, providing essential support for cold chain logistics.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on reefer units to ensure proper operation.
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
- Conduct repairs related to plumbing, HVAC, electrical components, and mechanical parts using schematics and technical manuals.
- Utilize welding skills for component repairs or modifications as needed.
- Interpret technical schematics and diagrams to troubleshoot system issues effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records and report on repair activities.
- Assist with installation of new reefer units or upgrades at different locations.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a 310T technician or technician specializing in refrigeration, HVAC, or appliance repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex refrigeration systems.
- Prior experience working with reefer units or similar mobile refrigeration equipment is preferred but will train.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel frequently between job sites.
- Ability to work independently in various environments while maintaining safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document work accurately. Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
