Accounting Technician - Public Practice

We are a respected and established CPA firm known for our personalized client service and long-term relationships. As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team long-term.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will work closely with our accountants and clients while managing a diverse range of accounting and tax responsibilities, including:
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for a variety of businesses and industries
- Preparing year-end working papers and supporting documentation for compilation engagements
- Drafting financial statements and corporate tax (T2) returns for Accountant review
- Preparing personal tax returns (T1s)
- Assisting with payroll, GST filings, and CRA correspondence
- Supporting additional information returns including T3s, T4s, T5s, and T5018s
- Assisting with CRA reviews, adjustments, and client inquiries
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is professional, organized, and committed to building a long-term career in public practice.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a public practice accounting firm
- CPA, CGA, CPA, CMA designation or recent CPA graduate preferred
- Strong working knowledge of:
- QuickBooks Online/Desktop/Enterprise
- Sage 50 (Simply Accounting)
- Caseware
- Taxprep
- Jazzit
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- This role is a full time in office position

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
