Dilawri Group In Ontario is now actively searching for an experienced automotive Controller to join our team at 401 Dixie Nissan. The role oversees the accounting function for multiple dealerships. Travel will be required between dealerships and our regional head office in Mississauga.
Pay Rate: $80,000 - $120,000
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor the dealership’s Accounting team, setting clear processes and high standards
Oversee all financial operations including cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Partner closely with Dealership management and General Manager to drive profitability and long-term planning
Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, manufacturer requirements, and government standards
Manage banking relationships, credit lines, insurance, inventory financing, and wholesale liabilities
Develop and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and efficient reporting systems
Support department managers with clear financial insights to improve performance
Oversee recruitment, on-boarding, and training for accounting staff
Supervise the administration of Group Health Plan and other benefit programs
Perform other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions
Qualifications:
University degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA designation preferred
Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within a retail automotive dealership environment
Strong knowledge of dealership accounting operations (retail automotive environment)
High computer literacy with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication with proven interpersonal effectiveness
Demonstrated leadership ability, including motivating teams and managing departmental operations
Strong business acumen with sound judgment and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize, coordinate across departments, and drive tasks to completion
Proven experience in personnel management and expense control (inventory, floor plan, staffing)
Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work collaboratively toward shared goals
