Healthcare Security Shift Supervisor
Summary:
The Shift Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of high-quality security services during an assigned shift within a healthcare environment. This role acts as a liaison between the Site Supervisor and frontline Security Officers, ensuring operational effectiveness, staff performance, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
The position requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and often high-pressure setting. The primary objective is to maintain a safe, secure, and professional environment for patients, staff, visitors, and property.
The Shift Supervisor will be working closely with and reporting directly to the Site Security Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise Security Officers on shift, ensuring a high standard of professionalism, customer service, and performance

Act as the primary on-site point of contact for SOC, clinical teams, facilities, and client representatives

Enforce all Paladin and client policies, procedures, and site orders

Ensure completion of accurate and timely daily reports and incident reports; follow up on deficiencies

Monitor officer performance and conduct coaching, recognition, and corrective action as required

Conduct site orientation and training for new staff, ensuring onboarding requirements are completed

Maintain awareness of staffing levels and assist with scheduling and shift coverage as needed

Coordinate coverage for absences, including short-notice book-offs and emergency situations

Address and resolve operational issues, escalating concerns where required

Follow up and solve customer/client concerns and queries as well as make recommendations to the Site Supervisor to improve security policies and processes

Ensure all incidents, WorkSafe injuries, and safety concerns are reported promptly

Maintain accurate documentation of all activities and incidents, including support of monthly site audits and deliverables

Respond to emergency situations and provide leadership during incidents

Promote a positive patient experience through professional and empathetic interactions

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience

Minimum 2 years of healthcare security experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Completion of Paladin Supervisor Training, or willingness to complete
-
Previous acting supervisor, supervisor or leadership experience is considered an asset

Proficiency with security systems including CCTV, access control, fire systems, and WinTeam

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including the ability to maintain all Use of Force training and qualifications
