Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our Farm Drainage team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and tractors, to support the install of Drain Tile. This role requires mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy machinery, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency on the job site. The Excavator Operator will play a critical role in the install of an Agricultural Drainage System.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery including dozers, tractors, and backhoes, with precision and safety.
- Perform excavation, trenching, grading, and site clearing activities according to project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Install specific fittings used in the connection of the system underground.
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Follow all safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
Experience
- Proven experience operating excavators, and other heavy machinery in a construction setting.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Experience with Cat controls is necessary.
- Valid commercial driver’s license is a plus for transporting equipment between sites.
- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation within construction or civil engineering projects is required for consideration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
