At least 3 days of availability is required. Shifts are Monday to Friday, typically 9:30am to 3:30pm but can vary slightly.
Some shifts are conducted in a group setting at the day program site, while others are conducted in the homes of the people receiving service or in the community.
Responsibilities
- Providing support to people with varied physical and developmental abilities and be responsive to their choices, needs and opinions
- Encouraging learning opportunities for the people we serve to foster personal growth and create a person-centered program for them.
- Participating in the events and activities with the people you are supporting.
- Providing dignified personal care
- Promoting and supporting individual rights and facilitate meaningful community inclusion
- Providing safe lifting and transferring techniques (training provided)
- Safely administer various types of medications following the medication administration policies and procedures (training provided)
- Completing file management for the people we serve including but not limited to: updating their information, completing annual planning meetings, etc.
- Providing support, guidance, mentoring, coaching and encouragement to the people we serve to develop personal goals and achieve their goals
- Complete daily logging and tracking requirements
- Use Positive Behaviour Supports and effective communication with the people we serve
- Assist with building maintenance and general cleaning/upkeep of the facility including but not limited to: yard work, cleaning bathrooms, garbage/recycling removal
- Assisting people served in their home with housekeeping duties, laundry, cooking and meal preparation, personal care and errands or appointments
- Taking direction and guidance from management
Experience and Requirements
- High school diploma or post secondary certification is required.
- Emergency First Aid and CPR/AED
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Clear Driver's Abstract
- Class 5 or Higher Drivers License
- Food Safety
- CLBC Privacy and Information Management (provided upon hire)
Experience is the social service field is appreciated but not required.

Pay: $25.95-$29.76 per hour
