The Ottawa office has an immediate opening for a full time Junior Environmental Technician within the Environmental Division. We are looking for the best and the brightest candidate to fill this role; the reward is a competitive salary (reviewed annually) and benefits package. The ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role should be capable of the following:
- Supervise environmental drilling and test pit projects.
- Supervise environmental remediation projects.
- Conduct groundwater measuring/sampling programs and site surveying.
- Supervise drilling and test pit contractors.
- Prepare technical memorandums and communicating with clients.
- Develop solutions with senior personnel when potential problems arise on site.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of client relationships.
- Ability to practice proper safety procedures while conducting field work.
Qualifications
- University or College degree in related field of study (engineering, civil or environmental or technology-based (ie. CET or EIT).
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering, preferably obtained in a consulting engineering environment.
- AutoCAD experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers.
- Exceptional organizational and writing skills.
- Readily accept working in a business-competitive environment.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle is a must.
- The qualified candidate must reside in the Ottawa/Gatineau surrounding area.
Physical Requirements
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
