Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Part Time Market Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting daily market operations, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail setting. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve our diverse customer base.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with inquiries, product selection, and checkout processes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the market area, including shelves and displays
- Operate cash registers and handle cashiering duties accurately
- Support merchandising efforts by restocking and arranging products attractively
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing needs promptly and courteously
- Saturday and Sundays from 9-2
- Location : Sechelt Farmers Market and Pender Harbour Market on Sundays.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with bilingual abilities considered an asset
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock and maintain orderliness
- Ability to perform cleaning duties and basic maintenance tasks
- Capable of working part-time hours with flexibility for shifts during market hours
- Good physical condition to stand for extended periods and handle light lifting tasks
- Reliable transportation to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
