Position Overview
Simulator Instructor – Search and Rescue Technician for Training Center Operations (TCO) Canada
Within CAE Defense & Security International, our TCO Canada organization spreads across the country through 10 cities with over 40 training devices in support of DND Training Delivery to the next generation of aircrew and maintenance crews. Our main objective goes beyond the delivery of simulators, courseware and training solutions. We ensure training delivery and training operations. We focus on long term relationship with our customer, as we ensure the sustainability and improve the training solution as it evolves through the lifecycle of the aircraft evolution within the requirements of our contracts being the training partner of choice for Canada. This opportunity is to support the Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Program and one of Canada’s most noble missions.
Description
Provide training to aircrew in Search and Rescue (SAR) and Air Drop Operations.
Demonstrate aerial delivery preparation and procedures.
Demonstrate safety techniques and coordination during the rescue phase.
Deliver firsthand experience in simulated scenarios.
Recommend and participate in improvement initiatives.
Instruct Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircrew students in classroom and practical settings using aircraft and simulation tools.
Collaborate with an integrated aircrew instructor team to design and develop CC295 Air Lesson Plans (ALPs), ground school lessons, continuation training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet diverse customer requirements and achieve team objectives.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during courseware development and updates, ensuring instructor materials and client training materials remain current and accurate.
Participate in the development of new training courses and modules.
Ability to travel and work shift/overtime when required.
Attend training sessions at CAE Montréal or other CAE sites in Canada, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Search and Rescue, Air Drop Systems, or Traffic Technician roles, or equivalent leadership experience.
Eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Work Permit).
Eligibility to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods clearance and Government of Canada Level II Security Clearance.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Physically able to work in confined spaces such as flight training devices.
Fluency in English.
Ability to travel occasionally within Canada
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Quality Standards, Training Plans, and training media used to meet teaching points in accordance with training standards.
Experience authoring and amending multimedia instructional courseware.
Verbal French skills sufficient to instruct in French.
Experience with Airbus C295 aircraft.
