The Legal Assistant / Case Worker will be responsible for managing case files, conducting client interviews, preparing legal documents, and coordinating services to meet client needs efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate client case files and legal documentation
- Assist with immigration, refugee, and appeal applications
- Conduct client interviews and gather supporting documentation
- Draft forms, legal correspondence, and case submissions
- Coordinate with clients regarding deadlines, appointments, and case updates
- Research immigration policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Ensure compliance with legal and administrative standards
- Provide administrative support to legal representatives as needed
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience as a legal assistant or in immigration services
- Proven clerical or administrative experience with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent writing skills, including legal drafting and report writing capabilities.
- Proficiency in data entry, filing systems, and document management software like iManage.
- Strong interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively with attention to detail.
- Experience with project management is a plus.
- Familiarity with proofreading techniques to ensure accuracy in all written materials.
