Looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Thermwood CNC) for custom millwork/cabinet shop. The position would include the following duties and responsibilities:
- Program, set-up, operate and maintain CNC machines including horizontal mills to perform custom millwork and cabinetry
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, charts and tables to determine appropriate operation and sequence to be performed
- Fix and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance and machining parameters
- Determine appropriate precision measuring instruments to analyze, measure and verify components of machined parts to specified tolerances
- Perform precision operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, etc.
- Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of settings and detect malfunctions or out of tolerance and adjust accordingly
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality and adherence to quality control standards
- Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as determined by the company
Skills/Personal Suitability
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience including knowledge of cabinet construction
- Minimum secondary school education
- Ability to read and accurately interpret prints and shop drawings
- Ability to set-up and operate CNC machines
- Experienced in machining components with tight tolerances
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, eCabinet Systems, and Mastercam an asset
- Ability to maintain and promote a positive attitude, teamwork and cooperation
