No glass experience is required. We will train the right person.
We’re looking for someone who is used to working with their hands and isn’t afraid of physical work. If you have experience in construction, roofing, siding, landscaping, automotive, carpentry, warehousing, restoration, or another hands-on trade, we’d like to hear from you.
You’ll start by helping in our shop and assisting our experienced technicians. As you learn, we’ll train you in automotive glass, flat glass fabrication, and residential/commercial glass installation, with the opportunity to develop into a full Glass Technician.
What You’ll Start Out Doing
- Helping keep the glass shop organized and moving efficiently
- Loading, unloading, and moving glass and materials
- Assisting technicians with fabrication and installations
- Measuring, cutting, cleaning, and handling glass
- Preparing materials and jobs for our field technicians
- Helping fabricate insulated glass units
- Maintaining tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas
- General shop and labour duties wherever an extra set of hands is needed
What We’ll Train You To Do
- Install windshields and automotive door glass
- Measure and cut flat glass
- Fabricate insulated glass units
- Install windows, mirrors, glass, and commercial/residential door hardware
- Complete residential and commercial glass replacements
- Work safely from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts
- Diagnose basic glass and hardware issues
- Work independently on service and installation jobs as your skills develop
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who shows up, works hard, and wants to learn
- Comfortable doing physical work throughout the day
- Able to lift and safely handle heavy and awkward materials
- Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
- Comfortable working on ladders and lifts and not afraid of heights
- Able to accurately use a tape measure and basic hand tools
- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable transportation to work
- Comfortable using tablets and basic technology
- Able to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
- Construction, automotive, carpentry, roofing, siding, landscaping, restoration, or other hands-on experience is an asset, but not required
