Position Overview
Gifted Hands Health Services is currently seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our client's multidisciplinary healthcare team in Cochrane District, Ontario.
This 4-month contract offers the opportunity to work across both acute care and outpatient diagnostic services, providing comprehensive respiratory care in a collaborative clinical environment. The successful candidate will have experience supporting patients in the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Medical/Surgical Units, as well as performing outpatient respiratory diagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory assessments and administer therapeutic interventions according to physician orders and clinical best practices
- Provide respiratory support in acute care areas including ED, ICU, and Med/Surg units
- Conduct outpatient respiratory procedures such as ECGs, pulmonary function tests, and walk tests
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to respiratory therapy, adjusting plans as needed
Requirements
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Recent experience in acute care settings (minimum 12 months preferred)
- Proficient in conducting outpatient respiratory diagnostics and therapeutic procedures
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the past 6 months)
- Completed 2-Step TB Test (within the past 6 months) and/or recent Chest X-ray (within the past 12 months)
- Up-to-date immunization records including COVID-19 vaccination (2 or 3 doses)

- Have you worked as an RRT for a minimum of 1 year in an Inpatient (Med/Surge, ED, ICU) and Outpatient (ECGs, walk tests, pulmonary function testing)? This is a prerequisite for this position.
