Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Electrician with 2–4 years of experience to support lighting retrofit and EV Charging projects across BC and if required Canada. This role is ideal for a registered electrical apprentice looking to gain hands-on experience in commercial lighting upgrades while working alongside experienced electricians and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform project site preparation, material staging, and cleanup activities.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas before, during, and after installations.
- Open, disassemble, and prepare existing light fixtures for retrofit installation.
- Remove and replace lamps, ballasts, drivers, and related lighting components under the direction of qualified electricians.
- Assist with commercial lighting retrofit projects at various customer locations.
- Install LED lamps, fixtures, lighting controls, and related electrical components.
- Perform lighting audits and site assessments.
- Interpret electrical drawings, floor plans, and project documentation.
- Operate scissor lifts and work safely from ladders when required.
- Maintain accurate records of daily installation progress.
- Identify and communicate potential installation challenges before project commencement.
- Follow safety procedures and comply with WorkSafeBC and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- Registered Electrical Apprentice in British Columbia.
- 2–4 years of electrical apprentice experience.
- Experience in commercial electrical or lighting projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and floor plans.
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders and aerial lift equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
