The responsibilities for this position:
- Keep facilities and equipment clean and in good working order
- Keep all equipment calibrated as required by ASTM/CSA/CPCQA
- Test aggregates for moisture content
- Strip, cap and break cylinders according to ASTM, CSA, ACI,CCIL, etc.
- Perform all concrete tests in a consistent and accurate manner
- Assist Quality Manager during CPCQA and CSA Quality Audits
- Report data clearly, accurately and timely as directed by the QC Manager
- Maintain filing systems as required by the QC Manager
- Be able to use computer systems: Outlook, Microsoft applications, and other basic programs
- Performs other duties as assigned by QC Manager
Qualifications:
· Minimum High School Diploma. Technical degree or diploma, preferably in the civil or materials discipline
· Experience with rebar inspection for precast concrete construction, concrete form inspection, testing of hardened concrete, non-destructive tests, and measuring the compressive and tensile strength of concrete is regarded as an asset
- CCIL or ACI Certification is an asset
- Must have proven ability to be self motivated and be able to work with limited supervision
- Must have ability to acquire skills to perform job description
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Alberta driver’s license
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must have good organization and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
- Must project professionalism with both customers and co-workers
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in outdoor and indoor work environments
- Must be physically fit and able to work long hours as required
- Able to perform a variety of tasks, including moderate to heavy lifting, standing for extended periods
