Our client, a well-established commercial construction company in the Windsor area seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with Sage experience to take ownership of the accounting function.
This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day operations, financial reporting, and project-based accounting in a growing business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities
- Prepare financial statements and support month-end / year-end close
- Oversee government remittances (HST, payroll)
- Handle inter-company transactions
- Perform job costing and track project financials
- Manage holdbacks and subcontractor payments
- Review and correct discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy
- Supervise and assign work to junior accounting/administrative staff
- Work closely with ownership and internal teams on financial reporting
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with Sage (required)
- Construction or project-based accounting experience
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication and ability to work independently
Assets
- CPA designation or in progress
- Experience with Procore or similar construction software
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff
