Our growing team continuously seeks hard-working and skilled individuals who will be a positive impact to our waste management company. We are currently seeking to have an Equipment Operator/Truck Driver join our team.
The basic function of a Landfill Equipment Operator is to operate various pieces of heavy equipment efficiently, safely and in accordance with company procedures. To complete work as scheduled and within guidelines exactly as specified by drawings and the Site Supervisor and/or General Manager of Landfill Operations.
The Equipment Operator performs regular preventative maintenance and minor repairs on company equipment in an effort to keep the equipment in peak and cost-efficient operating condition.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must have experience and have demonstrated capabilities with the following pieces of machinery as applicable to position openings:
5 years of Bulldozer
5 years of Excavator
5 years of Loader
3 - 5 years of Landfill Compactor
Must understand rough and final grades and be capable of reading technical drawings and diagrams. Basic math skills are necessary to set grades. Must have basic mechanical skills for servicing and maintaining company equipment
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. This position requires the ability to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
Must have full use of sight and hearing for both technical and safety reasons. Good depth perception is particularly important when digging and moving earth.
Must be willing to work 5 - 6 days a week with a normal workday averaging 8 - 12 hours a day. Equipment Operator hours are subject to change.
Must be able to speak and write the English language.
Preferred Qualifications: Truck driving experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Possession of a commercial driver's license
Responsibilities
Perform circle inspection and maintain fluids and filters on a daily basis.
Operate company vehicles and equipment safely at all times.
Maintain familiarity with equipment manuals.
Report any and all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor and in a timely manner.
Perform operations to exact specifications.
Ensure that work is completed as scheduled.
Work well with minimal supervision.
Readily follow work instructions as specified by immediate Supervisor.
Ensure equipment is kept in tidy and clean condition at all times.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Exhibit professional behavior and maintain good working relationships with customers and fellow employees at all times.
Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
