Reporting to the Director of Business Improvement and Safety, the Project Manager will partner with key stakeholders to drive business improvement throughout the Transportation and Logistics Division, with a special focus on the marine companies. Working alongside business leaders to drive practical, sustainable improvements that respond to evolving operational needs, the role offers broad exposure and a pathway into future operational leadership roles.
- Partner closely with leadership and frontline stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and scope business improvement initiatives that support business strategies.
- Manage a portfolio of improvement initiatives ranging from smaller, focused projects to more complex initiatives, balancing short‑term operational needs with longer‑term strategic objectives.
- Lead initiatives from problem definition through implementation, ensuring solutions are practical, adopted by the business, and sustained over time.
- Coordinate and influence cross‑functional teams, ensuring risks, dependencies, and trade‑offs are actively managed.
- Develop fit‑for‑purpose project plans, visual management tools, and reporting to track progress, surface issues, and support decision making.
- Facilitate change management and stakeholder engagement, adjusting approach as projects pivot based on business realities.
- Provide coaching and guidance to project leads, process owners, and operational teams to build internal capability in continuous improvement and project execution.
- Support key processes in the business improvement team, specifically those relating to continuous improvement, change management, and project management training withing the Transportation and Logistics Division.
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or MBA considered an asset.
- Approximately 5 years of experience leading projects or initiatives in an operational or business environment (experience may include continuous improvement, operations, or transformation roles).
- Experience in process improvement or continuous improvement; Lean or Six Sigma training (Green Belt or Black Belt) considered a strong asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent considered an asset.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively from the frontline through to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated comfort working in environments where priorities evolve and success depends on collaboration, judgment, and adaptability.
