Fiberglass and Gel Coat Expert (Marine Industry)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fiberglass and Gel Coat Expert to join our team in the marine industry. This role involves expert-level knowledge of fiberglass repair, gel coat application, and the ability to accurately color match gel coat to existing finishes on boats. The ideal candidate will be meticulous in their craftsmanship, demonstrate strong teamwork, and possess a commitment to punctuality and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Gel Coat Application & Color Matching: Perform expert gel coat applications on various boat surfaces, ensuring seamless integration with existing finishes. Accurately color match gel coat to the original color of the boat's existing gel coat, maintaining a smooth and uniform appearance.
Fiberglass Repair & Maintenance:
Handle fiberglass repair, patching, and restoration, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality. Utilize various techniques for gel coat repair and maintenance.
Quality Control:
Inspect and prepare surfaces before gel coating, ensuring all areas are properly prepared and free of contaminants. Provide consistent, high-quality finishes that meet industry standards.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
Work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with other skilled professionals to meet project goals and deadlines.
Timeliness:
Demonstrate punctuality and reliability by completing tasks within established time frames and maintaining efficient workflow across projects.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring the workspace is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in fiberglass repair and gel coat application in the marine industry. Expertise in color matching gel coat to existing finishes on boats. Strong attention to detail, ensuring quality results with every task. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with team members and management. Strong work ethic, with a commitment to punctuality and meeting deadlines. Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials. Comfortable working in various weather conditions and marine environments.
