Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson to join our team in Fort St John. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in electrical construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing complex electrical tasks, troubleshooting, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of our facilities. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of blueprints, schematics, and programmable logic controllers, along with hands-on experience using various power and hand tools. Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from detailed blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems.
- Perform industrial electrician tasks including wiring, conduit installation, and low voltage systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete electrical installations and repairs.
- Conduct troubleshooting of electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic equipment to identify faults quickly.
- Install, program, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician or technician with a focus on industrial or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Experience working with low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction practices related to electrical work.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Relevant certifications or licenses as a Journeyperson Electrician are highly desirable. This role requires a proactive individual committed to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement in an evolving industrial setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 72 per week
