Job Summary
A&L Auto Recyclers is seeking a detail-oriented Vehicle Inventory Specialist to accurately identify, inspect, and process incoming vehicles. The successful candidate will ensure each vehicle is correctly identified by year, make, model, VIN, drivetrain, engine, transmission, and available options before it enters the production process. Accuracy is critical, as this information forms the foundation for inventory, sales, and dismantling operations.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and inspect all incoming vehicles.
Verify and record:
VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
Year
Make
Model
Trim level
Engine size and code
Transmission type
Drivetrain (FWD, AWD, RWD, 4WD)
Exterior and interior color
Odometer reading
Decode VINs using industry software and manufacturer resources.
Confirm vehicle options and packages.
Identify major damage and missing components.
Determine whether the vehicle matches purchase documentation.
Photograph vehicles according to company standards.
Enter complete and accurate information into the inventory management system.
Apply inventory tags and stock numbers.
Communicate discrepancies to purchasing and management.
Coordinate with dismantling and quality control departments to ensure proper vehicle processing.
Maintain an organized vehicle receiving area.
Follow all environmental and health & safety procedures.
Qualifications
Automotive knowledge required is a MUST.
Ability to identify vehicles and components accurately.
Experience decoding VINs and identifying vehicle options.
Familiarity with automotive inventory software is an asset.
Strong attention to detail.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license.
Loader experience is considered an asset.
Preferred Experience
Automotive recycling or salvage yard experience.
Dealership receiving or inventory experience.
Auto body or mechanical background.
Experience using Hollander, Pinnacle, or other automotive inventory systems.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory, maximizing part sales, reducing errors, and supporting efficient operations throughout the facility.
Pay: $21.50-$25.00 per hour
