The French Language Training program at Toronto Academy of Education is designed to help adult learners develop the French language proficiency required to achieve their academic, professional, and immigration goals. The program focuses on preparing students for the TEF Canada and TCF Canada examinations through structured instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while developing practical communication skills aligned with CEFR and Canadian language benchmark expectations.

Job Summary
Toronto Academy of Education is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and experienced French Language Instructor with expertise in TEF Canada and TCF Canada examination preparation. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction to adult learners, assess student progress, provide individualized coaching, and prepare students to succeed in all four language competencies while maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence.

French Language Training delivery – In-person / Hybrid
Academic & Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in French, Linguistics, Education, French as a Second Language (FSL/FLE), or a related discipline.
· Minimum five (5) years of experience teaching French to adult learners.
· Minimum three (3) years of proven experience preparing students for TEF Canada and/or TCF Canada examinations.
· Native or near-native proficiency in French with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong knowledge of CEFR and the language proficiency standards used in TEF Canada and TCF Canada assessments.
· Previous experience in post-secondary education, career colleges, or adult education is preferred.
· Official TEF and/or TCF examiner or corrector certification is considered a strong asset.
· Must meet the instructor qualification standards under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Deliver engaging classroom instruction focused on TEF Canada and TCF Canada examination preparation.
· Teach and assess listening, reading, speaking, and writing competencies.
· Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, mock examinations, and practice activities.
· Evaluate student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
· Coach students on examination strategies, scoring criteria, and time management.
· Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and student records.
· Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
· Stay current with TEF Canada and TCF Canada examination formats and best practices.
· Work collaboratively with faculty to support curriculum quality and student success.
· Comply with all regulatory standards as set out by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) and the Ontario Career College Act, 2005.
