Full-time Maintenance/Trades Worker

The Opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated trades professional to join our maintenance team full-time. You'll work under the direction of our Maintenance Manager or Area Supervisors, applying your trade skills to maintain, repair, and improve school facilities so they meet high operational and safety standards.
Candidates will assist personnel with duties at various School locations as needed. The position is divided into two primary reporting locations:

South Schools
- St. Andrew's (High Prairie), Ecole Providence (McLennan), and St. Stephen's (Valleyview)

North Schools

Rosary (Manning), Holy Family (Grimshaw), Good Shepherd/Glenmary (Peace River), St. Thomas More (Fairview)
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Performing general and other maintenance duties as assigned across various schools. Duties may include (but are not limited to):

Perform skilled maintenance and repair work on building systems and infrastructure.

Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues.

Assist and collaborate with certified trades in specialized projects.

Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.

Complete painting, finishing, and carpentry tasks to a professional standard.

Ensure grounds and exterior areas are maintained for safety and presentation.

Identify, document, and report deficiencies in facilities or equipment.

Follow all Occupational Health & Safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

Permanent Full-time; 40 hours/week (3-month probationary period)

Beginning April 7, 2026, or as mutually agreed by both parties
Qualifications (Required):
- Class 5 driver's license and a driver's abstract

Criminal Record/Intervention Check

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (able to lift 40lbs)

Ability to maintain a polite and positive attitude

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Able to work in crowded and loud environments

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Previous experience working in general maintenance or a similar field
Qualifications (Beneficial but not Required)

Candidates with experience and certification in the fields of Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing will be prioritized
- Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate is considered a strong asset

Relevant professional certificates, diplomas, or degrees.
Wage - Salary dependent on qualifications and experience
