Delivery Driver/Labourer (Temporary to Permanent)
About Our Client
Our client is a steel supplier, specializing in stainless and nickel. They are looking for hardworking, strong individuals who are committed to customer satisfaction and getting orders out on time. You would be working in the warehouse while loading your truck with the steel pipes and then delivering it to our customers in the GTA, to unload it and provide customer service to them. This is VERY HEAVY work – you will be a general labourer, machine operator and delivery driver all in one! Plenty of cross-training and learning available.
What You Will Be Doing, as a Delivery Driver/Labourer:
- Machine operating – of steel machines
- Cross training between general labour, machine operating and delivery driving
- HEAVY general labour
- Greet customers upon arrival for delivery
- Safely load, transport material and operate various equipment
- Pack and prepare materials for delivery
- Ensure loads are properly secured, loaded & unloaded in a safe manner
- Complete all related reports to vehicle usage such as run sheets, inspection, etc.
- Deliver and pick up steel products to various customers/suppliers in the GTA area (GPS provided)
- Maintain cleanliness of truck & store (internal & external)
- Repetitive bending, lifting & twisting (50lbs)
- Operate Forklift as required
- Use all PPE as required
- Receive and process incoming stock
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What You Should Have, as a Delivery Driver/Labourer:
- Must be over 25 years of age
- Full G license
- General knowledge of the GTA area
- Clean drivers abstract
- Must be comfortable with lifting 50 lbs – this is VERY heavy.
- Must be fluent in the English language
- Strong customer service skills
- Forklift experience is an asset
- CSA Steel toed boots with metatarsal guards
In Return, You Will Receive:
- $23.00 per hour
- Paid weekly, every Friday (one week behind)
- Opportunity for permanent hire
- 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it
The Shift You Will Be Working is:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am to 5:00pm
