LEC Custom Products Inc. is a premier contract manufacturer of Health & Beauty, Household consumer packaged goods.
The QA/QC Technician is an integral member of the Quality Assurance team. Reporting to the QA Manager, the role is responsible for quality control testing of raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods. The role will also be responsible for liaising with 3rd party laboratories to send samples for analysis and ensure follow up.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform required testing within the allotted time in accordance with approved methods, SOP’s, cGMP/GMP & GLP requirements, on raw materials, semi-finished and finished products according to appropriate specifications. Record results of analysis on appropriate Certificates of Analysis.
- Initiate Lab investigations and deviations as per internal SOP under the direction of QA Manager or designate.
- Maintain all related records in compliance with Health Canada, FDA and GMP guidelines.
- Arrange testing of raw materials and finished goods by third party laboratories.
- Review third party laboratory results and raw data for compliance with release specification.
- Perform batch documentation reviews & assists in the investigation of non-conformances, product failures, customer/consumer complaints & quality incidents
- Apply experience and technical knowledge to investigate and evaluate process and procedural practices including deviations and recommend corrective action plans.
- Perform process audits in the Compounding and Pre-Weigh departments.
- Perform lab equipment calibration in accordance to procedures, record results & maintain calibration documentation.
- Actively participate in all Continuous Improvement (C.I.) activities.
- Promote and ensure safe and clean lab operations.
- Maintain an orderly filing system.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in science or related field like Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Life Science required.
- 1-2 Years in GMP regulated industry (Cosmetic, Pharma, Food)
- Understanding of lab activities related to manufacturing
- Good Analytical chemistry instrumentation skills, such as pH, Pycnometer, Viscometer
- Familiarity with microbiological analysis preferred
- Conversant with FDA/Health Canada Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP/GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices requirements
- Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Team player, highly motivated and takes initiative
- Proficiency and comfort using computers, such as Word, Excel, and ERP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Flexible to work in Morning or Afternoon shift.
- Flexible to to work in either of the two company locations (Brampton or Mississauga)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,000.00-$43,500.00 per year
