ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking candidates who are compassionate, caring and who can understand the challenges our patients and their families face. As the ideal candidate you are a pharmacy assistant who is responsible for assisting the pharmacy team in the preparations of medications and supporting them with optimal patient care. Working within a busy pharmacy or clinical environment, you have excellent communication and time-management skills.
YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Answering telephones, forwarding calls, taking messages, assisting customers, stocking shelves, operating cash registers, cleaning work areas and sterilizing containers.

Order medications, organize supplies, label drugs

Work directly with patient data, prepare insurance forms, maintain patient profiles

Provide patient assistance for technical non-regulated functions as required (e.g., showing location of an OTC product) while ensuring that a pharmacist is consulted for all patient therapeutic issues. Administrative duties include the following: Banking & POS functions: operating POS, monitoring charge accounts, account reconciliation, etc

Data entry and billing of prescriptions using Kroll Pharmacy Software ensuring that required documentation is complete, including third-party billing restrictions, co-payment management, and coordination of benefits

Assist with the management and reconciliation of inventory

Other duties as assigned by the Designated Manager or dispensing pharmacist(s)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

Completion of secondary school (diploma)
-
Provision of a recent and acceptable Criminal Reference Check.

Proficiency in using Microsoft platform, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Previous Pharmacy and Kroll experience is an asset.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Demonstrated decision-making skills.

Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills.

Demonstrated ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
