Tutor - Elementary Generalist, special Ed experience preferred

We offer individual and group tutoring for all subject areas and grade levels, delivered by experienced educators. Our educational presentations aim to educate staff and all age groups on specific challenges and how to best support neurodiverse individuals and organizations.
Role Description
This is a part-time role for a Tutor - Elementary Generalist with Special Ed experience (preferably). The Tutor will be responsible for conducting tutoring sessions, facilitating communication, and providing educational support . The role is based in Calgary, AB. Please note, it is a contractor position.
Qualifications
- Must have: Bachelor's degree in Education (or pursuing)
- Must have: AB Teacher's certification (or application in progress)
- Experience in Online Tutoring and Tutoring
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working with Special Ed students is a plus
- Valid PRC
- First Aid and CPR
- Reliable means of transportation
Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
- Assess students’ strengths and weaknesses to create effective lesson plans.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and educators regarding progress and areas for improvement.
- Educate students on study techniques, time management, and organizational skills to enhance their learning experience.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement.
- Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to ensure comprehension of material.
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching, particularly with children in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and engage students.
- Ability to educate and inspire students while fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- Patience and adaptability in addressing diverse learning styles and challenges.
- A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
