Pro Shop & Starter Associate
We are seeking friendly, organized, and customer-focused Pro Shop & Starter Associates to join our team at Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional guest experience both inside the Pro Shop and on the first tee, ensuring every golfer receives outstanding service from arrival to departure.
Pro Shop Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service.
- Check in golfers, process green fees, memberships, and merchandise sales through the POS system.
- Manage tee time bookings and assist with changes to the tee sheet.
- Answer phones, respond to guest inquiries, and provide information on rates, course conditions, and club services.
- Maintain the appearance and organization of the Pro Shop, including stocking and merchandising retail displays.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reconciliation.
- Coordinate with outside operations staff to ensure golfers are prepared for their round.
Starter Responsibilities
- Greet golfers on the first tee and ensure groups begin their rounds on schedule.
- Verify player names, cart assignments, and tee times prior to departure.
- Explain course rules, pace of play expectations, local rules, and any daily course conditions.
- Monitor the tee sheet to maintain proper spacing between groups and communicate delays as needed.
- Work closely with the Pro Shop and Marshals to ensure smooth course operations.
- Assist guests with directions, course information, and general questions before they begin play.
- Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional first tee environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a golf course Pro Shop, Starter role, retail, or customer service position is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently while providing exceptional customer service.
- Basic computer skills and experience with POS systems (Chronogolf experience is an asset).
- Passion for golf and creating outstanding guest experiences.
- Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
