Centre for Youth Care (CYC) is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families across New Brunswick. Through community-based youth care homes, transitional housing, youth shelter services, and individualized supports, we help young people build brighter futures.
We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, improving processes, and making a meaningful impact within a growing nonprofit organization.
About the Role
As the Finance Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization while leading a small finance team that includes our Accountant and Payroll Coordinator.
Working closely with the Executive Director, you'll help ensure the financial health of the organization through accurate reporting, budgeting, payroll oversight, audit coordination, and compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to strengthen financial processes, support organizational growth, and contribute to meaningful work that impacts youth across New Brunswick.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support the finance team.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
- Coordinate the annual budget and monitor financial performance.
- Oversee payroll processes and annual audits.
- Prepare financial reports for government funders and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and leadership team to support
organizational decision-making.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- CPA designation or working toward a CPA is considered an asset.
- Three to five years of accounting or finance experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and accounting principles.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector is considered an asset.
