Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Summer Camp Volunteers to support our youth programs in Langley. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with children, foster their development, and contribute to a fun and educational summer experience. Volunteers will assist camp staff in creating a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for children of various ages. This position is ideal for individuals interested in early childhood education, tutoring, teaching, or gaining experience working with children.
Responsibilities
- Assist camp counselors in supervising and engaging children during activities and free time
- Support educational activities such as tutoring sessions, arts and crafts, and group games
- Help facilitate a positive and inclusive environment by encouraging participation and social interaction
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to camp policies and procedures
- Assist with setting up activity stations and cleaning up after activities
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents to promote a welcoming atmosphere
Skills
- Experience or interest in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is preferred
- Ability to work well with children of diverse backgrounds and ages
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with young learners
- Creativity and enthusiasm for organizing engaging activities
- Reliable, responsible, and able to follow instructions diligently
- Prior experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus
